R&D - Product Development Light Microscopy Cameras

OSIS started out as a software provider. It quickly became obvious that the market was increasingly looking for hardware and for system solutions in the microscopy sector in particular. And then the MegaView was released, the company's first TEM camera, becoming a part of the product portfolio. Since then, OSIS has established a reputation as one of the most successful companies for hardware, software and system solutions worldwide.
My position is in the OSIS hardware research & development area. The focus of my tasks is in developing light-microscopic cameras. This covers all related areas, from the initial idea, to the realization and on to the actual finished product. Every day I am confronted with completely new questions that need answering. For example, there's the complex issue of color management where we work to obtain top-of-the-market color fidelity for our cameras. The continual improvement of the image quality of our cameras and systems is an ongoing and prominent goal for both hardware and post-processing areas. This is where my course of studies in physics comes in handy. Working together with the R&D departments of Olympus Tokyo has been an exciting and a new experience for me.

We develop our products in close cooperation with our Japanese colleagues and according to high quality requirements. Initially, it was important to develop a closer relationship and common understanding of goals and tasks. Today, I find working in an international team extremely constructive and inspiring. And both parties have a lot to learn from each other. Plus, I've always liked Japanese food.
